Knee arthritis is a progressive and irreversible degenerative condition, wherein the cartilage or cushion in between the joints breaks down leading to pain, stiffness and swelling.

Treatment of the condition varies depending on the severity of the condition Most of the cases can be managed with exercises, activity modifications, topical painkiller gels, occasional painkillers, disease modifying medicines, specialized knee braces, TENS therapy. Patients occasionally requires visco-elastic supplementation injections, PRP injections.

Surgical management is reserved for resistant and severe cases, high tibial osteotomy, stem cell therapy, arthroscopy, knee replacement surgeries are the available options.
